About Us
WHAT WE DO
Inveresk is a wealth advisory firm providing comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to families, business owners, and professionals.
We provide thoughtful and tailored strategies to transform short-term decisions into long-term success, and work with clients to align their goals and values with financial decision-making.
OUR STORY
[Inver-esk] - meaning

Inver: the coming together of rivers or waters
Esk: the river, abundant in fish

The name "Inveresk" means the coming together of rivers, full of fish. We believe that meaningful change happens when people come together and create thoughtful financial plans aligned with their values and goals.
Inveresk Wealth Advisers was established in Launceston, Tasmania, at the intersection of three rivers: The North Esk, the South Esk, and the Tamar River.
Inveresk is founded on the concept of financial "GRACE" (Grass-Roots Activated Capital).
This idea holds that our future depends on realising the potential inherent in every person, to activate their human and financial capital and make the world a better place.

We can't wait for Governments to fix our problems. We need to be an active part of the solution.
When people make financial decisions based on what they care about, it is both personally enriching and can effect powerful change for a persons family and wider community.
INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY
We help people buy quality assets at reasonable prices and hold them for longer than the average length of an Instagram Reel.
Insight. Courage. Opportunity.
The computers have turned on, and the brains have turned off. In an age of increasing data, algorithmic trading, and AI, new opportunities are emerging for thoughtful investors to access opportunities and avoid investment risks.

We believe that an individual approach to investment management is superior to the institutional pooled approach. Our investment strategies account for the different risk profiles, tax positions, and preferences of our clients.
Buying quality assets at reasonable prices sounds simple, but it isn’t easy. Here are a range of factors that go into executing our investment approach:
Quality
We assess the quality of an asset from a range of quantitative and qualitative perspectives. For an individual share investment, the management, strategy, and industry need to be understood in the context of the business data – balance sheet strength, return on investment, profit margins, and growth.
Valuation
Financial assets should be valued from the expected future cashflows that they will generate over time. We leverage research and data from our investment partners to ensure we have reasonable valuations underpinning our investment recommendations.
Unique Perspective
A $5 note doesn’t last long on a train station floor. If value is obvious, it disappears quickly. Identifying long-term value requires a unique perspective that can go against the crowd.
Simplicity & Patience
We prefer direct investment where possible, low investment turnover, and investment products that do what they say they are going to do.
Diversification
Reasonable diversification is preferred, and aligns with the fact that the future is inherently unpredictable. Ideally, investment portfolios should concentrate over time as their best ideas begin to take up a more meaningful percentage of the portfolio.
